I often hear, mostly from adults, that they aren’t creative. I highly disagree. EVERYONE is creative because there are so many ways to be creative! Do you cook? Do you bake? Do you put your outfits together? Do you write? Do you work in marketing? Do you like to dance? These are just a few examples of showing your creativity. Any time you are making something or making something happen, YOU are being creative!
I have worked with a wide variety of students in my classes (ages 3-94). Some have never painted anything but a wall. Some never picked up a rubber stamp or a paper punch. As an art instructor, I absolutely love introducing new techniques and new mediums to students. Sometimes it may just be my point of view or showing them a different way to view their own piece. And at times, I may reintroduce a technique like fingerpainting to adults so they have a new prospective on a “childlike” pastime.
I love sharing my love of art with others and encouraging students to express themselves through their creations. So let those creative juices flow! They are more abundant than you think 🙂
